The first step to understanding your child's unique brain activity.
What is qEEG?
A quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG) - often called a "brain map" - is a non-invasive, painless measurement of your child's brainwave activity. We record electrical signals across multiple sites on the scalp and compare them to normative databases to see which regions may be under- or over-active.
qEEG measures the electrical activity in your brain, clinicians can see how different parts are functioning, and identify areas of imbalance.

Yes - it's entirely non-invasive, painless, and involves no electrical stimulation.
Usually not - the process is passive (measuring), not stimulating.
Setup + data collection typically takes 30-45 minutes total.
Just normal preparation: avoid caffeine, ensure your child is well-rested, and minimize hair products that might interfere with electrode contact.
Many centers repeat mapping after sets of training (for example, every 20-40 sessions) to track progress and guide adjustments.
qEEG is a diagnostic / planning tool, not a standalone treatment. Neurofeedback is the therapy. Always follow your child's broader care plan in consultation with other providers.
